Nero
In Quo Vadis (1951), it is the story about when Emperor Nero is ruling over Rome when he suddenly goes crazy over power and himself. In my opinion, Nero is my favorite character/villain because he is the hardest to understand and why he acts the way he does. Nero has the motives of knowing what he wants (power/wanting attention), comedic (the way he acts), and finally they give us a background on things he did to make him become the villain of this story. Though there are some characters in the movie that could be a worthy opponent, and has a connection to Nero, I don't think Nero connects with those components as well as the other villains in other movies. When historians look back on Nero, they often say he was one of the worst rulers ever to rule Rome because of how he got into power, how he used his power while he was ruling, and the way he acted through all of it which the movie goes into. Quo Vadis was not a favorite by any means for me, but watching Nero be played made this movie so much better than some of the other movies, which I think is most important with watching movies. Nero is the most selfish villain out of all the other villains too because he did not like being the ruler of Rome and wanted to be a singer. He made everyone listen to him sing and if you showed or told him that it wasn't good, something bad would have happened to you so everyone lied telling him how good he was. This is one of the ways he became so obsessed with himself and another reason why everyone in Rome did not like him as a ruler.

Anger
One of many traits that Nero has is being a complete psychopath. This is single handedly the reason why he is a villain. During Quo Vadis, he does do things that are questionable, but when the audience is getting a backstory on why and how he is ruling Rome you start to wonder why nobody tried to stop him from being the king of Rome. Nero had to kill his mother, step brother, and his wife to get all of his power. When someone has to kill his own family to come into power means they want the full power, but as we start to see him during the movie, he isn't happy because he couldn't fully perform music which is something he loved. In the first picture, we are shown Nero singing/creating a song, while he set Rome to burn all the way down so he could rebuild it and make it the way he wants it. As you can see by the characters in the background they aren't pleased with what Nero is doing and on top of that, they have to listen to him sing. This is the most impactful thing that Nero left on Rome, making him such a big villain because he burned down Rome to make it how he wanted it. You have to be a complete psycho to have this cross your mind but Nero made it happen which makes him one of the worst villains to walk earth ever. In the second picture, Nero is choking out his second wife, ultimately killing her. In his lifetime, he was able to kill both of his wives which just doesn't happen naturally. On top of this, he made one of his trusty senate friends kill himself, because of how bad of a ruler and singer he was. These were some of the things on why Nero was such a bad ruler and one of the worst villains ever.

Funny
The other trait I believe is the best trait I witnessed was Nero just being a goofball. Nero throughout the movie was funny for no reason which I think the producers wanted to do because of how much hate he does get from being so bad. The way he acted through the movie was kind of like being a big baby which was really funny. In the first picture, he is shown being in his bed crying because one of his senate friends killed himself. During the whole movie he was shown needing someone to lean on and make his decisions for and the person that killed himself was that person that helped him with his decision making. This ties in with him being a big baby which I think is really funny because he is a grown man, let alone the ruler of the greatest empire in the history of the world. He does get karma when he opens up the note because it's his senate friend telling him how much he sucks at singing. In the other scene that is shown, it is Nero full on singing, while everyone else is sitting there listening to him sing and taking the pain of listening to him. I included this into the funny category because Nero thinks he is a really good singer, and nobody else thinks so which makes Nero look like a clown and I think it's funny when everyone thinks you're a clown and you don't think so.
